Africa / Biochar
We see a very high potential for Biochar in Africa and have taken an active investor role in the largest biochar facility on the continent. Currently one facility is in operation but there are already detailed plans to open the second plant in early 2026 and 7 more plants before 2030.
Carbon is removed by producing biochar from agricultural and woody waste materials. Our high quality biochar is combined with several other feedstocks to create our in-house bio-fertiliser which is distributed to farmers in the region. By implementing this circular economy model, we are able to transform waste into a high value product that not only sequesters tonnes of carbon but regenerates degraded soil, increases drought resistance, boost yields, increasing food security and biodiversity. Ultimately improving the livelihoods of Africas farmers.
Our goal is to be the worlds largest biochar company.
